Research overview
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on thymosin beta-4, a protein found in nearly all human cells that plays a role in tissue repair. It's best known in recovery research as the counterpart to BPC-157, a pairing popularly nicknamed the "Wolverine stack."
Research centers on how thymosin beta-4 binds actin, the protein that drives cell movement, supporting cell migration, new blood-vessel formation, and tissue remodeling. Most studies look at soft-tissue and muscle repair, wound healing, and cardiac and corneal recovery models.
Most evidence comes from animal and laboratory work, and the limited human studies were done on full-length thymosin beta-4 rather than the TB-500 fragment itself, so it's treated as an experimental recovery compound rather than an approved therapy.
